Brightline’s High-Speed Rail Unveils Exhilarating Tourism Possibilities in Florida

A Journey of Discovery through Central and South Florida’s Vibrant Cities

In a recent press trip with Brightline, my perceptions of central and south Florida were completely transformed. This experience has opened my eyes to the incredible tourism potential of this region, all made possible by Brightline’s high-speed rail service.

Our adventure commenced with the unveiling of Brightline’s Orlando station, signaling the imminent launch of service between Orlando and Miami this summer. Throughout our four-day excursion, we explored Orlando, West Palm Beach, and Miami, all of which are seamlessly connected by Brightline’s trains. What stood out were the exceptional accommodations just a stone’s throw away from the stations, allowing for convenient and immersive experiences.

Orlando’s Lake Nona, a hidden gem, captured our hearts. Located just minutes away from the Orlando International Airport and the new Brightline Orlando station, the Lake Nona Wave Hotel became an instant favorite. This privately-owned luxury boutique hotel boasts a jaw-dropping contemporary art collection that rivals any I have seen before in a hotel. Its fusion of art and hospitality sets a new standard for modern travel experiences.

West Palm Beach surprised me with its down-to-earth ambiance. Breaking free from the extravagant depictions I had seen in movies, the city welcomed us with open arms. Exploring the area through golf cart tours and leisurely walks, we discovered the vibrant downtown, highlighted by The Square—a bustling neighborhood offering shopping, dining, and events. West Palm Beach’s dedication to supporting local artists and showcasing their works through murals adds an enriching cultural dimension to the city.

Embarking on the Brightline train from West Palm Beach to Miami, I was transported to a different world. The train’s interior design mirrored the elegance of European and Japanese counterparts, featuring comfortable seats, foldout tables, and large windows that provided breathtaking views of the passing scenery. The onboard food and beverage service elevated the experience, further solidifying Brightline’s commitment to exceptional customer service.

Our final destination was Miami, where the Arlo Wynwood Hotel captivated us with its avant-garde appeal. Situated in the heart of the emerging cultural arts district, this hotel stands as a testament to Miami’s thriving art scene. From its rooftop pool to the upscale retro vibe of MaryGold’s restaurant, every detail exuded the essence of Miami’s distinctive charm.

Immersing ourselves in the vibrant streets of Wynwood, we embarked on a street art and graffiti tour via golf carts, guided by Miami’s Best Graffiti Guide. This exploration showcased the extensive collection of public street and graffiti art, shedding light on the evolution of this once-maligned art form into a recognized mainstream phenomenon. To conclude the evening, Doya treated us to a culinary journey through the flavors of the Mediterranean, offering a unique fusion of modern Aegean cuisine.

In South Beach, The National Hotel captivated with its preserved art deco allure, infused with a touch of modernity. This historic property emanated Old Hollywood glamor, with larger-than-life prints of iconic stars adorning its walls. The expansive pool, the longest in South Beach at 205 feet, beckoned us to indulge in relaxation and luxury.

Finally, we dined at Stubborn Seed, a newly Michelin-starred restaurant, which left an indelible impression. The interactive tasting menu captivated our senses, each dish telling a story and building up to a grand finale of unforgettable flavors. As I strolled along Collins Avenue, taking in the sights of historic art deco buildings and neon signs, I couldn’t help but savor the memories of this extraordinary journey.
